If you are a perfectionist, the title “pleasing the perfectionist in you” must have caught your attention immediately.
As a heart-centered, passionate and purpose driven women in business, you naturally hold yourself to very high standards when it comes to your work and anything you put out into the world. Your commitment to precision and perfection shines through and is extremely important to you.
When perfectionism fuels your passion
The great thing about being a perfectionist is that when you are in your zone of genuine, working in and with your full potential and running to your tune (click here to read more about running to your tune); your attention to the finer details and top quality work shines through, igniting your passion for what you do even more.
The thing with perfectionism though, if not channelled correctly, can cost you valuable time as the flip side of being a perfectionist means you can often be your biggest critic and end up being quite hard on yourself.
Allowing the volume of the inner critic to overpower your imaginative and innovative side will block your creative flow and intuitive ability.
And often your intuitive and aligned ideas you have end up being put off and sit on the shelf, so to speak, as needing it to be perfect to start gets in the way.
Perfectionism can be a superpower
Regarding perfectionism, maybe you have been led to believe that this isn’t a good personality trait to have, but I totally disagree.
I honestly think perfectionism is a superpower and when used correctly in your business and personal life, great things can happen as the perfectionist strength in you, will give you the edge and set you apart from the rest.
The solution to harnessing perfectionism to use it like it’s a superpower so you can create and produce in and with your full potential, is to align yourself and manage your mindset.
Everything starts in the mind
When you can manage your mind instead of your mind managing you, the world is your oyster. To start managing your mindset, I would love to share this simple but powerful tip with you, “Just start and you can perfect it along the way”.
Nature is such a great example here, there is nothing more perfect than nature. The breathtaking landscapes didn’t start fully formed. Instead they began as seeds, nurtured and watered, and over time evolved into lush green fields, beautiful flowers, and tall, majestic trees.
So next time your inner critic pops up due to perfectionism and tries to stop you in your tracks, just reminder yourself “let me just start and I can perfect it along the way”.
It really is this simple when it comes to pleasing the perfectionist in you and it does work. Knowing you can perfect things along the way frees you up to get started, and once you start, your imagination and ability to pull ideas together will magically start to unfold with ease.
